TSMC has manufactured over 1 billion 7nm chips (with original text)

Recently, TSMC announced on its official blog that in July this year, TSMC produced the 1 billionth fully functional and defect-free 7nm chip.

TSMC said that 7nm was officially put into mass production in April 2018, and has currently served more than dozens of customers around the world and created more than 100 chip products.

According to data, TSMC's first batch of 7nm products include Bitmain's mining machine chips, Xilinx's FPGA chips, Apple A12, Huawei Kirin 980, etc.
This once again proves that whoever has the technology gets to eat the meat. Things that Intel, the world's most famous IDM, can't handle are easy for TSMC.
TSMC is not only ahead of its competitors in 7nm and 5nm, but will also be ahead of its competitors in 3nm process in the future.
It is worth noting that according to the current situation, Apple is TSMC's largest customer. The 3nm process will most likely be first launched by Apple's A16 chip in 2022. SMIC will reach mass production of 14nm 6,000 pieces/month by the end of the year; TSMC is now mass producing 5nm 50,000 pieces/month.
Global semiconductor chip market share: TSMC accounts for approximately 53%. SMIC accounts for about 4%.
That's the gap in the accounts.
Furthermore, TSMC's advantage is that the winner takes all the profits, which is equivalent to using the profits of the world's advanced technology giants to develop its own technology.
